Security & Facilities Management WSH Seminar on 8 November 2016 (Tues) – Registration is closed.

A joint initiative by the Workforce Singapore (WSG) previously known as WDA and the Workplace Safety & Health Council (WSHC), supported by appointed WSH Service Provider, Bond International, this seminar aims to impart the fundamentals (eg the WSH Act, Risk Management) and applications in WSH for Security and Facilities Management, thereby building your capability in Workplace Safety & Health to provide a better and safer workplace for your security officers and clients.

Facilities management consists of multi-disciplinary work activities to ensure the functionality of the built environment. Common work activities associated with FM include Security Management, lift maintenance, cleaning services,  etc.

The wide spectrum of work activities in the FM industry comes with potential workplace hazards including, but are not limited to, slips and trips, falls and electrical accidents. Of the 55 reported accidents in 2016, at least 3 are involved in Facilities Management. Stakeholders should uphold WSH precautions at all times to protect themselves and the public from unintended harm.

Increasingly, the environment in which FM professionals operate has become more complex. The integration of multiple disciplines to ensure the smooth operation of buildings presents many WSH challenges. For example, building designs make it harder to clean and we need safe ways to access certain areas. We also have more high-rise greenery which requires maintenance work.

This seminar will provide an opportunity for the participants to learn and share about the WSH obligations of the employer, and going beyond the legal obligations to inculcate a positive WSH culture in their workplaces.

Who should Attend?

Top Management (Company owner, Director, CEO, MD or GM), preferably the director(s) whose name(s) are reflected in the business profile with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).
